What are Ontologies?

Ontologies detail the structure of data labels and how these labels relate to each other hierarchically. They are a way to systematically define and categorize the specific scope of datasets, which enforce dataset standards and encourage clarity.

Managing Ontologies

Nexus supports ontologies at various levels illustrated in the table below.

Class TagAdding of custom attributes at a class tag level to provide more contextual information in individual annotations. Common examples can include size, colour, brand etc.
Asset [COMING SOON]Adding of custom metadata at an asset level to provide more contextual information to images, videos, and other data formats like DICOM/NIfTI. Common examples can include geospatial information, timestamps, camera parameters etc.
