How I Fell Into the Sudoku Trap

I stumbled upon Sudoku years ago during a long layover at an airport. I was exhausted, my phone battery was dying, and the only thing left to do was flip through a free airline magazine. There it was — a small grid tucked between ads for travel pillows and luggage sales.

I gave it a shot. Within ten minutes, I had filled the grid — incorrectly. I didn’t know the rules properly and thought guessing would help. Spoiler: guessing never helps in Sudoku. But something about the process stuck with me. Even though I failed miserably, I felt that strange itch to try again.
